The Sign Tiger in Mythology

There are many legends and stories about the animals chosen to be part of the Chinese astrological system. One of these legends refers to the desire of the Jade Emperor to know the animals that inhabited the Earth. He decided that some of them would be brought before him. To facilitate the selection, the Emperor defined two criteria: they would have to be useful animals to Man or be one of the first to arrive at the Celestial Palace on the day of choosing the animals. The Tiger's brave air earned him third place in the Chinese Horoscope.

Dates of the Sign Tiger

The Chinese Zodiac is associated with the way time is measured in traditional Chinese culture, that is, in 60-year cycles. This calendar results from the multiplication of the twelve animals and the five elements. This cycle is very important and makes each one of the 60 years a special and unique period.

Each animal governs, in rotation, a given year, in a continuous 12-year cycle that starts with the Rat and ends with the Pig. On the first day of the Chinese New Year, one of the 12 animals takes its place for that year. In addition to characterizing people born during that year, the animal also influences the attributes of the year - which affects us all. The years governed by the sign Tiger are as follows:

  • January 31 1938 to February 18 1939 - Earth Tiger
  • February 17 1950 to February 05 1951 - Metal Tiger
  • February 05 1962 to January 24 1963 - Water Tiger

The Tiger Native Personality

BOLD AND PASSIONATE

The Tiger is the third sign of the Chinese zodiac and is associated with qualities such as relaxation and intuition. This is a personality that lives to be dazzled by new challenges, exotic places and unusual events.

Its positive attitude and enthusiasm for life make it a joyful companion, who manages to contaminate others with optimism. Determined, it doesn't like to lose or to be seen to fail. When things don't go as they'd like, they'll most likely start with a new project.

Confident, fearless and adventurous, it's not afraid to jump into new projects. Telling it that something is new and exciting is not enough; it has to be a truly unique and firsthand experience. Charming and persuasive, the native of the sign Tiger trusts its intuition and can convince anyone to follow it, no matter how imprudent the project is.

Its nature is generous, courageous and exciting. Very loyal to its friends, when it can't achieve what it wants, it can become a stubborn and self-centered person.

Love and Relationships

Tigers fall in love easily, but have a hard time staying faithful. In love, they look for the same inspiration they look for in life and, therefore, it is not uncommon to see them bouncing from relationship to relationship. The native of the sign Tiger is particularly enthusiastic about the promises of adventure and excitement provided by a new relationship. They can't resist boredom and routine, reasons enough to drive them to look for a new passion.

They are attracted to independent personalities but do not shy away from pursuing their dreams and following the adventures alone. It fearlessly shares its feelings and is very honest about its emotions. Despite enjoying company, it doesn't need anyone to launch himself into the world. Its strength and independent spirit doesn't mean, however, that it doesn't need emotional support. It is looking for a partner who will bring some stability, but who has its own plans and dreams.
