Chinese Zodiac

Chinese Zodiac, or Shengxiao, is represented by 12 Zodiac Animals - the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Each Chinese Zodiac year is represented by an animal and chinese people believe that a person's horoscope, personality, and love compatibility are closely associated with his Chinese Zodiac Sign, determined by his birth year.

Chinese Zodiac Animals have astrological and cultural meanings. Chinese Astrology associate each Animal Sign with certain characteristics. It's believed that people born in a given year have the personality of that year's animal.

In Chinese Astrology the Animal Signs assigned by year represent how others perceive you or how you present yourself.  There are also Animal Signs assigned by month (called "inner animals"), by day (called "true animals") and hours (called "secret animals").

As the Chinese Zodiac is derived according to the ancient Five Elements Theory - Fire, Water, Wood, Metal or Gold, and Earth or Soil - , every Chinese Sign is composed of five elements with relations, among those elements, of interpolation, interaction, over-action, and counter-action. Different people born under each Animal Sign supposedly have different personalities, so practitioners consult such traditional details and compatibilities to offer putative guidance in life or for love and marriage.
